Elisabeth Naughton’s love of all things adventure started young. Having spent most of her childhood in La Grande and finishing school in Independence, she grew up hooked on movies like “Goonies” and “Romancing the Stone”. In college at Oregon State University, she studied science and dreamed of a career in medicine or archaeology. Though she didn’t go into either of these professions, she found the next best thing – teaching junior high science. She earned her master’s at Eastern Oregon University.
Not only did she get to talk about scientific facts all day long and instill a passion for adventure, but she was able to observe that unique time in all our lives where the hormones are flying and love is fresh and exciting. Looking back now, she’s sure she got her start writing romance way back then.
These days, Naughton has hung up her teaching hat and now writes full time from her home in Western Oregon where she lives with her husband and three children. You’ll find some sort of scientific elements in all her books, and at the heart of each adventure, a deep and fulfilling romance. She began writing romance in 2003. “Stolen Fury” was the fifth manuscript she completed before selling in February 2008.
Naughton just completed her term as president of the local Mid-Willamette Valley chapter of the Romance Writers of America, where she has also served as secretary. In 2007 she was a nominee for the romantic suspense category of the prestigious Golden Heart awards, a peer-judged contest for exceptional unpublished writers. She is represented by Laura Bradford of Bradford Literary Agency.
