LORD AND LADY SPY
by
Shana Galen
No man can outsmart him…
Lord Adrian Smythe may appear a perfectly boring gentleman, but he leads a thrilling life as one of England’s most preeminent spies, an identity so clandestine even his wife is unaware of it. But he isn’t the only one with secrets…
She’s been outsmarting him for years…
Now that the Napoleonic wars have come to an end, daring secret agent Lady Sophia Smythe can hardly bear the thought of returning home to her tedious husband. Until she discovers in the dark of night that he’s not who she thinks he is after all…
“Galen strikes the perfect balance between dangerous intrigue and sexy romance.”

Shana Galen has taken romance to new heights, writing about what happens AFTER the couple says “I Do”. To win a copy of LORD AND LADY SPY, tell me:

Yes – after the wedding puts the couple on a different footing. They really need to work things out and, in historicals, don’t have the taboo of pre-maritial relations to deal with.

I’ve enjoyed plenty of marriage of convenience stories where the marriage actually occurs early in the book (Devil In Winter is a fave of mine) as well as some “married reunion” stories (Lady Isabella’s Scandalous Marriage is a great one of these)

Yes, very! I love to see how they manage their life after marriage. How life not always happily ever after. But, there are always problem they must face afterward. My favorite for this genre is In Death series by J.D.Robb

I want this book in the WORST way!
I think the wedding occurring has a lot to do with the story. The novels where the strangers marry and then find that they are perfectly suited are usually pretty good. Or they marry for a particular purpose and find that they are in love. **sighs**

my favorite on this kind of book is Private Arrengements!
you gotta love Camden for not giving up!=)

Yes i love that idea. Not many books out there continue after marrying their characters which is so disappointing since i would love to know how everything is going.

After the wedding is when real life begins!

I think it depends on the storyline… I tend to enjoy more “period” pieces than modern times.

I think I do like reading about the after part, other than just giving it a closure part, it’s about finding out how things are going after the wedding, are they getting along, problems they’ve overcome, etc.

I have only read a few of them, but I like them

Absolutely a fan, romance is not supposed to die as soon as the wedding bells chime. I have not read many after-wedding-romances but I really like them.
